Atmospheric continental carved softwood head fragment, probably Germanic, late Gothic or early Renaissance period, circa 1500–1550. Machine sawing marks at the back, where cut from a larger piece- probably architectural in origin, most probably from a church. Great deep, well earned patina all over.
