An extremely rare and atmospheric early Medieval Anglo Saxon period carved sandstone head of a man with a large moustache, likely a warrior and originally used to mark a burial site, or from a shrine. Acquired by a previous owner from an Oxford farm auction in the early 90's. Condition is good and stable, and despite some expected age related wear the features are still distinct and easy to make out considering the age. H 24 cm x W 16 cm x D 18 cm
