An primitive early hunting crossbow, probably Germanic origin, constructed mostly in pine and bound around the top with leather, with folk art carvings to the stock- likely signalling affiliation with a certain troupe. Mostly original with some later repairs and restorations. No longer functional in its current state, but a great decorative piece and could probably be fixed to work again fairly easily.
