An adorable, tiny little early 19th century mahogany box, of fully dovetailed construction and even having a moulded lid, as well as original brass hinges and bone escutcheon. Clearly the work of a very competent joiner with a real eye for detail, and made for a very specific purpose- perhaps to house an important piece of jewellery, or a pocket watch. Great little thing, fantastic colour.
