An extremely rare, possibly unique, English mid to late 18th century carved oak ejector candlestick, modelled on a metal hog scraper candlestick, but carved from a single block of wood. I've never seen one of these before and neither have any of the other dealers or collectors I've consulted, making it likely a totally singular piece of English folk art. Probably made by someone without much money or in a particularly rural area, in their downtime, to replicate the more fashionable and expensive candle holders of the time. H 18.5 cm x W 7.5 cm x D 6 cm (approx)
